We may change the purposes of use within a scope reasonably considered related to the original purposes. We will notify members or publish any such change.

6. Restrictions on Use

Except as permitted by Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information or other applicable laws, we will not handle User Information beyond what is necessary to achieve the stated purposes without the member's consent. The following exceptions apply.

  2. (2) Where necessary to protect life, physical safety or property and obtaining the member's consent is difficult
  3. (3) Where particularly necessary to improve public health or promote children's healthy development and obtaining consent is difficult
  4. (4) Where cooperation is needed with a national or local government body, or its contractor, in performing statutory duties and obtaining consent could impede those duties

7. Proper Collection

We obtain User Information properly and do not use deception or other improper means.

8. Security Management

We provide necessary and appropriate supervision of our employees to ensure User Information is securely managed against risks such as loss, destruction, alteration and disclosure. When we outsource all or part of its handling, we also supervise the contractor as necessary and appropriate to ensure secure management.

9. Disclosure to Third Parties

We do not provide Personal Information to third parties, including those outside Japan, without the member's prior consent. This does not apply when provision to a third party, including one outside Japan, is necessary in the following cases.

  1. (1) Outsourcing all or part of the handling of Personal Information within the scope necessary to achieve the purposes of use
  2. (2) Providing Personal Information as part of a business succession due to a merger or other reason

10. Access to Personal Information

When a member requests disclosure of Personal Information under Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information, we verify that the request is from the individual concerned and disclose it without delay. If no such information exists, we notify the member. This does not apply where we have no legal obligation to disclose under that Act or other laws.

11. Correction, Suspension of Use and Deletion

  1. (1) If a member requests correction under the Act because information is inaccurate, or suspension of use because it has been handled beyond the previously published purposes or collected through deception or other improper means, we verify the requester's identity and promptly investigate. Based on the findings, we correct the information or suspend its use and notify the member. If we decide not to make a correction or suspend use, we notify the member of that decision.
  2. (2) If a member requests deletion and we determine that the request should be fulfilled, we verify the requester's identity, delete the information and notify the member.
  3. (3) Paragraphs (1) and (2) do not apply where the Act or other laws impose no obligation to correct, suspend use or take similar action.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may amend this Policy as needed. Where the law requires members' consent to an amendment, the amended Policy applies only to members who consent through our prescribed method. We will announce the effective date and content of amendments on our website or by other appropriate means, or notify members directly.
